Global clean energy spending needs to triple to $515 bill per year thru 2030!
From its yearly meeting in Davos, Switzerland, the World Economic Forum just released a report saying that global clean energy spending needs to at least triple from 2008's $155 billion. In order to combat climate change and bring sustainable fuels to parity with fossil fuels, some $515 billion per year should be spent through 2030 - Jan 2009

CleanTech managed to shine in 2009
Investors put $4.1 billion in 277 clean-tech start-ups in 2008, 52 % more than '07. Seven of the top 10 biggest deals of the year in this sector. VCs favored solar energy and PV cos, which received $1.8 billion in 2008. Top 3 deals were Nanosolar, Solyndra, SolarReserve. Energy from other sources, ethanol, nuclear, getting $561 million.
