Oil crude density measurement
Oil crude density is measured in API (America Petroleum Institute). Higher the API, lower the density. Avg crude: 25 deg API'; Light, more valuable crude: 40 deg API; Heavy oil: 10-15 deg API; oils below 10 deg API are heavier than water
