Biomass can supply 65% of US fuels?
The Economist (Jun 2008) reports that acc to a study by the US dept of energy & agri, with only small changes to existing practice, 1.3 billion T of plant matter could be collected from US soil without affecting food production. If these were converted to ethanol, it would add up to 350 billion liters of petrol - 65% of US consumption
