Ethanol, Biodiesel cannot be jet fuels because
Unfortunately, neither of these biofuels (ethanol or biodiesel) can help supply jet fuel, for which energy density and low-temperature fuel properties are critical. Ethanol is not dense enough having only about half the energy per volume of jet fuel. Biodiesel has about 80% the energy density of kerosene, but can solidify at the low temperatures of high altitude flight. - Read More

Renewable JP-8 jet fuel created by EERC
A 100% renewable domestic fuel that meets the JP-8 aviation fuel screening criteria, and claimed to be the first of its type, has been created by the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) at the University of North Dakota it was revealed today (30th September). In a statement the EERC explained that fuel samples created from multiple renewable feedstocks were tested at a U.S. government facility to evaluate key specification parameters for JP-8. The samples met all the standards. - Read More
