US Net Petroleum Imports
In 1997, share of US net petroleum imports coming from OPEC nations was 50%, up from 42% in 1985 and down from a high of 72% in 1977

Bulk of increase in world oil output to come from OPEC
Despite all talk of non-OPEC countries trying non-conventional methods to get oil, acc to IEA, the bulk of increase in world's oil output will come from OPEC countries, between 2007 and 2030 - their collective share rising from 44% in 2007 to 51% in 2030!
