Google, Rockport Large Investors during Quarter
Google Inc. and RockPort Capital Partners led a quarterly record $2.6 billion in investments among developers of solar power, grid efficiency, and algae-based energy technologies, according to Cleantech Group. Venture capital firms invested in 158 startups in the third quarter, including a record $95 million for Sapphire Energy and Solazyme, which are developing fuels from algae ponds that could replace diesel and gasoline. - Read More
