Investment bankers looking to buy oil and store them in supertankers
According to Bloomberg, investment bankers are thinking about hiring supertankers. Due to contango, they can buy oil now, then fill a tanker, lock in a sales price for several months or a year down the road, and sell it later at the agreed upon price. (Jan 2009)

Super oil tanker has 100 mill $ worth of goods
This is what I read today in a news item "a Saudi oil supertanker with a cargo worth $100m...."Ok, it was carrying 33,000 T of wheat, not really oil, but this gives a number of a 1 Kg of wheat = 3$, perhaps very high? I think te price is something like 1 $ max...anyway, the point is, it is carrying at least 30 million $ worth of goods...wow, that's a lot of value...the price of an oil supertanker is something like 125 million $...no wonder pirates are going after these.
